mapFeeder™: Water Quality
RMB Environmental Laboratories, Inc., a Minnesota based independent analytical laboratory has increased participation in the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s lakes monitoring program to well over 900 lakes throughout Minnesota.
This monitoring program involves the collection of total phosphorus and chlorophyll-a samples along with other observations such as Secchi disk, lake level, rainfall, and recreational suitability. Citizen volunteers collect water samples once a month from May through September and submit them to the lab for analysis.
Flat Rock Geographics has provided GIS consulting services to RMB Labs since 2006. In 2010 Flat Rock began implementing the next generation of RMB’s statewide mapping and reporting web application, built on mapFeeder™. In addition to lakes, hundreds of miles of stream and river monitoring will also be reported on.
